Project Statement
In my red velvet cake infographic, I used a color palette comprising shades of red, cream, various pinks, and normal colors for baking ingredients. These colors were chosen not just for their aesthetic appeal, but also to symbolize the essence of red velvet cake. Red signifies the cake itself, reflecting its vibrant hue, while cream represents the frosting. The addition of various shades of pink adds depth and visual interest, evoking the romantic nature of this classic dessert, particularly fitting for Valentine's Day. The normal colors for baking ingredients were incorporated to balance the overall color scheme. I selected Botanica Script, Garamond, Caviar Dreams, and Bold Lining for the typefaces to create an engaging visual experience. Botanica Script adds a whimsical touch to headings, Garamond lends tradition to subheadings, Caviar Dreams ensures clarity for body text and instructions, and Bold Lining highlights important information. This combination enhances the infographic's aesthetic and readability, making it visually appealing and easy to follow.
In my red velvet cake infographic, I crafted all the icons used to represent baking tools, ingredients, and decorative elements. Each icon was carefully designed to enhance the overall organization and visual appeal of the infographic. Tools were depicted in various shades of pink to maintain a festive and cohesive look. Ingredients like cocoa powder and food coloring were represented in rich red tones, while creamy whites and beiges were used for flour, sugar, and cream cheese frosting to visually capture their essence. These choices were use to provide a clear and cohesive representation of the baking process, making it easier for readers to follow along and understand the steps involved. I used candy hearts to create organization and cupid bows as a symbol of arrows to signify the next step. Hearts were also used to separate information, adding a playful element to the design. These handcrafted icons maintained a festive and cohesive look, making the infographic engaging and informative for the audience.
